The office of Circuit Court Clerk is sworn to secure and accurately maintain the records for the Circuit and District Courts. The Circuit Court Clerk assist in the administration of judicial duties by receiving and processing court documents, providing Supreme Courts approved legal forms, managing juries, collecting, and reporting all monies paid to the court.

Krissie Coe Fields brings a wealth of leadership and experience to her role, with an impressive tenure of 17 years as Circuit Clerk in Barren County. Under her guidance, the Circuit Clerk’s office in Barren County has undergone a remarkable transformation, becoming renowned as one of the most professional and knowledgeable circuit clerk’s offices in the state. Krissie has played a pivotal role in Kentucky’s transition to a new Electronic Court Management System, demonstrating adaptability to modernize processes.

She has worked closely with the Kentucky Department of Transportation to advocate for the establishment of a regional drivers’ licensing office in Glasgow, a testament to her commitment to improving accessibility and convenience for residents. To that end, Krissie has already doubled the number of Drivers License Pop-Up events in Barren County, a prime example of her dedication to serving the needs of the community.

Her leadership extends beyond her local jurisdiction, as evidenced by her election as Secretary of the Kentucky Circuit Court Clerks Association, a position entrusted to her by her peers. In this capacity, she plays a crucial role in representing the interests of circuit clerks statewide and advocating for policies that benefit clerk’s offices and the communities they serve. As a member of the Legislative Committee, Krissie actively monitors legislation that impacts clerk’s offices, ensuring that they remain informed and prepared to navigate evolving legal landscapes.

As the Education Committee Co-Chair, Krissie actively designs the Circuit Clerk Education Curriculum for the state, ensuring that clerks across Kentucky receive comprehensive and up-to-date training. New Local Facilities

I will continue to work with Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Personnel to bring a Regional Driver’s License location to Barren County, and advise on the design and construction of the new Judicial Center.

Develop Clerk Curriculum

A knowledgeable and experienced Clerk is essential to the well being of a community, so I am dedicated to improving and developing Clerk and Deputy Clerk curriculum across the state.

Electronic Systems

Digital management systems not only save time, but increase efficiency and reliability. I will continue my work transitioning our Court Management System and records for Judges and Attorneys to a digital system.
